Star Wars: The Force Awakens—The Posters

 In Design, Film

With today’s release of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens IMAX poster, I’m guessing we’re near the end of the printed marketing materials. So I thought I’d look back at what we’ve seen so far. Most of the posters are very true to the Star Wars look we’ve come to know. Genius illustrator Drew Struzan, who brought us all of the iconic posters from Episode IV on, was even lured out of retirement to do one for this new film. The only posters that seems slightly different—and that doesn’t mean they’re bad; it just means they’re a bit more contemporary than some of the older ones, which I love—are the character posters. Check them all out below.

Also, if this isn’t enough Star Wars art for you, there is a Force Awakens-centric gallery show at Gallery 1988 West in Los Angeles that opens tomorrow. You can read all about that here.
